According to Circular 47/2024 of the Ministry of Transport on vehicle inspection procedures, there is currently no regulation allowing the presentation of vehicle registration via the VNeID application. The documents accepted at inspection centers include: the original vehicle registration certificate, a certified copy of the original, or an appointment slip issued by the police.
For cars under bank mortgage, the owners do not keep the original registration certificate. In such cases, when going for inspection, they must present a notarized copy of the registration. If this is not available, the owner should contact the bank to request a notarized copy. As stipulated, a notarized copy has no expiration date and can be used repeatedly during periodic inspections.
Therefore, presenting the vehicle registration only on the VNeID application is not sufficient for inspection. Vehicle owners need to prepare the proper documents to avoid disruption and facilitate the process at inspection centers.
